Awakening the Power of a Modern God: Unlock the Mystery and Healing of Your Spiritual DNA deciphers the great spiritual mystery of how we interact with the forces of creation. In this fascinating program, visionary and scholar Gregg Braden shares the life-changing discovery that led him from a successful career in aerospace and defense to an extensive 12-year study of the most sacred and honored traditions of humankind.

This program presents a portrait of an ever-evolving God—and then it backs it up with a fascinating mix of modern science, case studies, spirituality, and personal stories. Unlike most "new age" products that simply dress up centuries-old concepts in new clothing—this program is truly a new understanding of God, and the spark of God that is literally within you!

This Book is Changing My Life.

Rating: 5
Powerful. I feel like I am having an awakening. I am just more than half way through this book, and I've decided to give my two weeks notice at a job I don't love to pursue a creative career. I am afraid, but ironically, I have the support and encouragement of everyone around me. I could not have ever attempted anything life this without having read this book. This week the chapter I read was on the fear of taking risks and ironically that is exactly where I am. The author has these tid bits in every chapter that just blow me away. 6 months in therapy couldn't do what this book will. Maybe even years in therapy. I can't recommend it enough. READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After a half a year.. I'm FINISHED!.

Rating: 5
It took me awhile to finish, but it was well worth it! For any aspiring artists looking for tools to live life more creatively. Keep in mind it's not a "magic book" that will fix all your problems... but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

Lovely.

Rating: 5
For those that enjoy mediation, art and personal growth this is a book that you should have and should read. Slowly, with focus and pleasure. Read a bit, put it down, think about what was written. Budding artists, artists that have "brain block" or just tired will gain from this book. It's well written, warm and feels good. I do some kind of creative work everyday and still gained enormously from reading this book. I enjoy the work book as well. Have fun with this, it's worth the time!

I credit the sale of my first novel to this book.

Rating: 5
I picked up the Artist's Way in spring of 1994 and worked through it. Within a month I'd sold my first novel (MAINLINE), that I was working on at the same time I read this book. I have no doubt that the doors it opened for me - in creativity, in visualization, in the flow of energy around the entire process - played a key role in the unlikely sale of my unagented partial through the slush pile of a major genre publisher. Synchronicity and fortuitous happenstance abounded when I was deeply in the groove with the Artist's Way.

I just bought another copy because I want to revisit and renew some of the processes I learned here the first time around. It is my experience with this that putting serious attention into it yields tremendous payback. I know a million people have reviewed this book over time, but I just wanted to add a comment on it because Julia Cameron helped me open the door to professional authorship, and I'm grateful for the catalyst experience she provides.

Good Choice.

Rating: 5
This author leads you into a direction to focus on your creativity in a "step level".
It is a practical approach to dealing with a subject that can have no practicality to it at all!
How do you accept yourself as a creative person?
Most of us do not.
We come up with other ways of "dealing" with it......and try to push it away...because we think we will not be able to make a living or not be accepted by society....
This book helps every artistic individual to think differently about their approach to life and how to handle situations according to "their" artistic standards....
I enjoyed this work and use these philosophies and practical approaches in my art, which is.... being a musician and songwriter.
Thank you Julia!

A Prairie Home Christmas.

Rating: 5
I originally bought this CD as a gift but was curious enough that I opened it and played it. I love it. Obviously, I'm keeping that copy and buying another! I am from the Midwest and haven't been back for Christmas in years. Garrison Keillor's wit and homespun stories, the music and the humor all make me anxious to get back there this year. A Prairie Home Christmas is just the kind of down-to-earth Christmas we all need....

A fine Christmas entertainment collection.

Rating: 4
This collection of moments from Christmastime broadcasts of "A Prarie Home Companion" is a very good one. It features excellent music, much of it by the "Hopeful Gospel Quartet". It also has wonderful skits, including Tom Keith's amazingly funny sound effects version of the twelve days of Christmas, and a re-telling of the Christmas story by Garrison and the other actors. The only complaint that I would have about this CD set is that Garrison's brilliant storytelling is not the feature of this compilation. Nevertheless, this compilation is without question worth getting for all of those who enjoy "A Prarie Home Companion".

Inner Temple Cd Set.

This was most definately worth buying it has been a great help in my journey so far. I would most definately recomend this to any one. There is plenty useful information when used with the book.

A must if you're serious....

Rating: 5
A must if you're serious about working with the Inner Temple material. The book is an incredible learning tool by itself but the CD's really add a new dimension to the work. I routinely use them to refresh my studies and help my psychic development.

I was fortunate enough to also take the Witchcraft Class I with Christopher and still find the CD's very helpful. I would encourage anyone who is really interested in this topic to purchase both the book and CD's AND to take his class if you can. I've been VERY IMPRESSED with all three.

Best Companion CD Set Ever!.

Rating: 5
For those who are skeptical of just about anything coming from Llewellyn, I have to say that, if they continue to release EXTREMELY HIGH CALIBER material like Christopher Penczak's Temple of Witchcraft series, then they will fully redeem themselves as publishers.

Though I share the concerns of other reviewers about the lack of separation between sets of exercises on the CDs, after listening to several tracks I now believe that the exercises were recorded that way for a specific reason. The series of meditations and visualizations, as recorded, afforded me a rich experience that has helped calm my mind and increase my focus within the first three days of receiving the set!

For example, after the initial relaxation and counting-down induction, the first "set" takes you through 3 (or four?) sets of simple visualization exercises. Afterwards, he counts you up from the meditation state to full awareness and grounds you with a light chakra sweep and clearing affirmation. Each segment begins and ends in the same calm, balanced and safe manner. When I experienced the exercises for the first time, I appreciated that he didn't short-change the coming-back-to-awareness sequence at the end of each meditation, like some meditation recordings I've heard.

If you're considering the companion CDs along with the books, I would consider this a required item to purchase along with the books. Keep in mind, the CDs are a COMPANION to the books--they're not the audio version of the entire text, just the exercises, which comes in very handy if you don't want to have to work on your meditation trance while balancing the book on your lap.

Many, many, many blessings to Mr. Penczak for his excellent soothing voice, caring and warm reading, and the top-knotch level of the work on this CD and all his books.

Bright Blessings!

Powerful and successful.

Rating: 5
This companion set to the book, The Inner Temple of Witchcraft is one of the most powerful I have used. Christopher Penczak is an amazing author and when you listen to his voice on the CD's he doesn't lull you to sleep nore does his voice rake across your nerves. He gently takes you into a complete state of guided meditation and helps you to explore your own potential as a witch. I highly recommend every one of his Books and CD sets as you will never regret owning them. They are both useful for beginners who have never performed meditation before and great for those who need a little guidance to get deep enough.

The Most Important Book of the Century.

Rating: 5
This book addresses creativity with great personal stories of a master creator, but more importantly it describes how everyone can become more creative, happy, and fulfilled. Especially for the children of our increasingly stressed world, David Lynch presents a simple solution and takes the action to make it happen.

Watch the films, don't wait for the book to come out..

Rating: 1
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big David Lynch fan. Twin Peaks is still my favorite TV show, even after all of these years. But having subjected myself to Lynch's senseless, overly whimsical rants about creativity and meditation, I now completely understand why he never wrote very much about explaining his work in the past.

Instead of offering insight into Lynch's creative process, this overly indulgent volume is more of a shallow diary. Most chapters are little more than a couple of sentences, stating little more than the fact that he enjoys LA and working with wood. Further, the stories get so caught up in logistics that the point is often mysteriously lost.

For ventures into the creative process, check out Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way or Kenny Werner's Effortless Mastery. For more on meditaion, see Suzuki's Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind or Chogyam Trungpa's Dharma Art.

honest, great book.

Rating: 5
It's an honest, ingenuos, great book written by one of the ever greatest film director. In these pages you'll find honest advices for film maker and for peoples that use creativity as a part of everyday life. You'll find too many suggestions about how to practice meditation, written by a "normal" person instead of a "guru". Keywords: common sense, love, huge, peace, life, ideas, film.

Meditation is about more than this.

Rating: 3
Lynch makes meditation sound like a magic carpet ride. that part of the book made me wanna shove a couple long fingers down my throat. Anybody who actually does meditation knows that it is way more multifaceted, rigorous, and subtle than Lynch describes it as.

But the parts about filmmaking were great.

I would've liked it much much more if he just wrote a great book about film and at the end said : "By the way, meditation has been really helpful to my creative process," and left it at that.

If you want to really learn about meditation, read Turning The Mind into An Ally by Sakyong Mipham. If you want to learn about film, David Lynch is one of the masters.

An Honest Look into the Creative Process.

Rating: 5
I "borrowed" this book this morning from a friend's coffee table, read about half before having to return it now buy my own copy.
Not because the story is so gripping that I have to find out it ends but because of the honest view Lynch provides into the creative process. There are sentences I'd like to return to for encouragement and inspiration.

I am a poet, writer, and materials artist. While reading his descriptions of the filmaking process I mentally substituted the word "short story" or "sculpture-poem" for "film" and the processes he describes. This is just what I am going through right now in developing a couple of short stories.

As an artist and also long-time meditator I find Lynch's small book with brief, "seed-thought" chapters inspiring. And just enough is said to help me reflect on my own creative work. Sometimes I feel his words come from some lectures on creative film work that he may have given. Yet David Lynch has attempted the difficult task of clearly reflecting on the creative process in his long career.

Some reviewers here on Amazon complain that his book lacks depth because of brevity of these chapters. But they may have missed the essential point Lynch makes: the Deep you seek is within you. One must transcend the surface shallow stuff and dive within to experience the depth of life. This is not a book that teaches HOW to transcend. It merely describes WHAT has happened in one artist's life by regularly transcending.

"I've never yet found drinking in a bar to be a waste of time....."
(Albert Giordino)

In the year of 1281 a "gods' wind" destroyed the fleet that has been sent by Kublai Khan for an invasion of Nippon.....

.....656 years afterwards the Imperial Japanese Army succeded in forcing ahead from her Chinese satellite state Mandshukuo, that was founded n 1932, to Shang-Tu and occupied the eastern part of the so called "Mongolia Interior".....

These historical facts are serving the authors for two opening short stories and background of the 19th adventure around Dirk Pitt, meanwhile married an head of the "National Underwater & Marine Agency" an his buddy Al Giordino. At the beginning of the plot (Which starts, regarding the publication of the novel, in the near future, namely June 2007) the two NUMA-veterans are saving a patrol exploration team from an enormous wave on the sibirian Baikal Lake. The overnight disappearance of the rescued explorers is followed by several mysterious earthquakes in the Gulf of Persia, which cause a big loss of petrol production and a huge rise in prizes. Meanwhile Dirk Sr. an Al pickup the trail that leads them in the Republic of Mongolia, Pitt Jr., his sister Summer and their colleague Jack Dahlgren are discovering an archeological sensation in the Keliuli Bay of Hawaii....

With "Treasure of Khan" Clive Cussler and his son Dirk again are presenting a plentiful action and tension loaded thriller that connects three different time levels in an intelligent way. Beside usual technical details and ironic elements the original and logical story this time also shows a cameo scene with Clive Cussler (together with his "Dachshund") as a bus driving development aid worker. Apart from Admiral James Sandecker, meanwhile US-Vice President, also heavy weighted St. Julien Perlmutter, NUMA-Vice President Rudi Gunn and computer freak Hiram Yeager are appearing as old acquaintances.

A good recommendation for all timedivers and fans of Cussler, Pitt, NUMA etc. or those who are still willing to become...

Not up to expectations.

Rating: 3
This latest Dirk Pitt adventure just isn't up to earlier works. The story could be a good one if pared down a bit, but the action just limps along and doesn't hold the reader's interest like other Cussler stories. I was disappointed in Treasure of Khan.

Awakening the Power of a Modern God.

Rating: 5
This was another incredible book/CD by Gregg. I've listen to the CD set five times! It explores the ancient practice of understanding the "mirrors" in our lives. How all the coincidences and little things in life are reflecting a much bigger picture to each and everyone of us. I am a Christian and while I don't much care for his references to Thoth (occultist from the Emerald Tablets fame), everything else I could readily see as truth. Greg is an excellent speaker/writer. He repeats just enough to get the concepts into your head without being a bore. He interjects a few personal stories which help drive home his points in a practical way. Thank you, Greg for another great effort!
